It's time for fall recruitment!

We hope you are enjoying yourself and that you are preparing for an exciting year at The University of West Alabama. We hope that you will consider attending sorority recruitment events which begin on August 22nd with a Greek mixer and info session.

If you are undecided about sorority life, we encourage you to attend all of the sorority recruitment (rush) activities to see what Greek life is all about. Don't fall for stereotypes until you see for yourself...you may be surprised! During rush, you will meet lots of new people and gain new friends that you will have for the rest of your college career and after. These new acquaintances can help make your transition into college life a little bit easier. The sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau have been working very hard preparing an entertaining evening for you to enjoy. Rush is a time for you to learn about each of UWA’s three great sororities, and to see which one, if any, best fits your interests and values. Involvement in Alpha Sigma Tau can greatly enhance your college experience by giving you a group of sisters with which to identify, and open doors for service and academic opportunities, as well as social events and personal growth. This affiliation will support you and give you the confidence to achieve your goals.

Hopefully, you have already had an opportunity to meet sorority women from all of UWA’s sororities, but it is important to meet more than just one or two members before deciding if a sorority is right for you. You can’t possibly know how unique a sorority is unless you have compared them all. At AST rush, you will be able to meet all of the members of Alpha Sigma Tau and see the many facets of our sorority. Even though we are number one in many categories on campus, we are most proud of our diversity and of the special bond we share with one another. Choosing a sorority is about more than just colors or the Greek letters we wear, it is a local and national network - over one hundred years in the making - of support you can call on anytime, day or night. It’s sharing old memories and creating new ones together. The sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau want to help make your college years the very best years of your life. We know from experience that every kind of girl fits in Alpha Sigma Tau and every girl has something special and unique to offer.
